Buy and sell shares

Shareholders

If you are a private individual resident in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man, and you hold shares for which MUFG Corporate Markets provides share registration services — or in a nominee programme administered by MUFG Corporate Markets Trustees (UK) Limited — you can sell shares through our dedicated online share dealing service.

Please note: selling shares is not currently available on Investor Centre.

For more information, please visit here.

Employee Share Plan Participants

If you are an employee who holds shares through a company share plan (such as Share Incentive Plan (SIP), Sharesave (SAYE), or similar), you can buy or sell shares directly through Investor Centre — either via the web portal or the mobile app.

  • Mobile App: Tap on Transact, then select Sell/Transfer.
  • Web Portal:
    • If your plan is not a SIP: go to Plan on the top menu, then click Exercise.
    • If your plan is a SIP: go to Transact Securities on the top menu and select Sell/Transfer.

When your shares are ready for action (e.g. granted, vested, available to sell), you’ll receive a notification from us when you log in. The types and amounts of shares available for sale, as well as the available options and timing, may vary depending on your company’s plan rules.

To view your payment history, navigate to the Payments section and select Payment History. Here, you can easily access details of all previous dividend payments, including the amounts received and the payment methods used.

This feature is available on both desktop and mobile platforms.

If you notice any outstanding or unexpected amounts and would like to discuss them, our support team is here to help – simply start a chat or contact us via email

If you’ve lost your share certificate, you’ll need to request a replacement.
What you need to do:

  1. Download and read our guide: Letter of Indemnity – Replacement Share Certificate Guide
  2. Follow the instructions in the guide.

NCI stands for National Client Identifier.

Under the current MiFID II legislation, organisations are required to confirm their customer’s nationality and national client identifier (NCI). This is to enable firms to accurately report deals completed to their local regulator, which for us is the Financial Conduct Authority. For most UK customers, the NCI is your national insurance number. For non-UK and multi-nationality customers there will be a specific NCI per country. For those who act on behalf of other customers, such as Power of Attorney, we are required to collect the NCI of the person who makes decisions on the account, as well as the underlying account owner.

The table below shows what NCI information is needed based on your nationality. All registered holders will need to provide this information.

  • If you are dual national, you should provide the nationality which comes first alphabetically under the ‘Code’ column
  • If you are acting as Power of Attorney you will need to provide the NCI of both the registered holder(s) and of the Power of Attorney
  • For deceased holders, only the registered holder information needs to be provided (not the Executor(s) or Representative(s))
